Notification Card will be discontinued from 25 May 2020
The Japanese Government will discontinue the use of the “My Number Notification Card” starting from 25 May 2020.
If you register as a new resident in Japan after the date of the notification cards discontinuance, you will still receive a notification “Kojin-bangou Tsuchi-syo” by simple registered mail.
However, the new notification cannot be used as proof of your My Number.
If you lose the notification, it cannot be reissued.
If you already have the Notification Card, you can continue to use it as proof of your My Number as long as all the information (name, address, etc.) on the notification card matches the information on your residentce card.
Once the Notification Card is abolished, you can no longer do any of the following:
- Reissue the notification card
- Change any information, such as address and name, on the current notification cardWhat should I do if I need to prove my number?
●Certificate of resident registration (Jyumin-hyo ) with My Number
●Jyumin-hyo Kisai-jikou Shomei-syo with My Number
You can prove it by issuing either.
Of course, you can prove it if you have a My Number Card with ID photo.

マイナンバー通知カードが、令和2年5月25日に廃止されます。
廃止後は、通知カードの新規発行はありません。
通知カードの廃止以降に日本で新たに居住者として登録し、初めて個人番号が府番される場合、
通知カードではなく、
「個人番号通知書」というお知らせが簡易書留で送られてきます。
この通知書は、カードとは違ってマイナンバーを証明する書類として使用できません。
この通知書は紛失しても再発行できません。
すでに発行されている通知カードは
氏名・住所が住民票と同じ場合、マイナンバーを証明する書類として使用できます。
但し廃止後は、
●転居等により住民票の住所など変更があっても、通知カードに記載もできなくなるため、マイナンバーを証明する書類として使用できなくなります。
●紛失しても再発行できません。
●住民票の写し
●住民票記載事項証明書
どちらかを発行すれば証明できます。
または、写真付きのマイナンバーカードで。
